6 Days - Mon-Sat (typically) 8am-4pm

Prerequisite:

Compsitech Foundations or equivelent training/experince (determined by Compositech team)

Customer Facility or Compositech Training Centre

Required Equipment:

  • Closed toed shoes

  • Long pants/long sleeves or personal disposable chemical resistant painters coveralls/apron (can be purchased from Compositech if notified in advance)

  • Approved Respirator Required and fit tested prior to arrival at course.

Compositech's Advanced Composite Repairs course takes your technical understanding and experience to a new level. Designed with the Aerospace Engineer (technician) in mind, this course supplies the theory and practical, hands-on experience to repair advanced composite structures. This is an advanced, hands-on course.

 

During this 5 day hands-on course you will:​

 

Theory for The Advanced Composite Repairs Course

  • Learn advanced aircraft composite structure design from a "built to repair" mindset​

  • Understanding advanced composites repair materials​

  • Learn advanced composite structures inspection techniques​

  • Learn to design an advanced composite structural repair that meets aircraft manual requirements.​

  • Learn damage removal techniques​

  • Learn about the tooling required for advanced composite repairs​

  • Learn advanced  vacuum bagging techniques​​

  • Learn composite safety​

  • Learn the importance of environmental conditions in shop, and on aircraft​

 

Practical Projects for Advanced Composite Repairs

  • Complete a hands-on project that locks in the technical knowledge learned during course using carbon fiber, nomex honeycomb core, foaming adhesive and film adhesive

  • Create a vacuum bag system designed for an elevated cure with complex contours.

  • Complete  repair on your project​

 

Upon Completion will have

  • Learned through an open and fun learning environment

  • A beginners understanding of the theory behind repairing advanced composite structures

  • Acquired an entry level, hands-on, skill set to begin repairing advanced composite structures

  • Have the required understanding and skills to move to the next step and further courses

  • Certificate of completion​​

 

Basic safety equipment will be supplied such as: dust mask, safety glasses, disposable gloves.

You must bring disposable painters coveralls/apron (chemical resistant) and "fit tested" personal respirator.
